i've always found that age thing a bit odd, myself. the mormons have a similar idea, only their "age of accountability" is 8 (i'm not going to get into all that business, just talking about the age part here). it has always seemed so arbitrary. i mean, not all kids develop at the same speed and one 13 yo is not another 13 yo. some are 13 going on 30 and others 13 going on 7. anyway, i agree with you on the no youth group thing. i always just went to regular church. we did go to sunday school, sometimes as kids, but as we got older, it was just regular church. youth/teens are told often enough in commercials/tv/movies that they are somehow superior to their elders these days without being given "church lite", as you put it so well.
